Easter Sunday April 3
Christ is Risen!

Crafttime:
The children will assemble the "Jesus is Risen" craft, popsicle sticks and foamies pack from ebay.

Playtime:
Open playtime...
Easter egg hunt (the eggs were hidden before the start of class, kids may find them sooner but announce the game when kids start finding them). Note: eggs are empty, and that is part of the lesson.

Lesson 12: Palm Sunday

CRAFT Time:

2. Children will tape the pipe cleaners to the pre-cut palm leaves.

GAME Time:

• Pin the Tail on the Donkey

(Cleanup time)

STORY TIME: Children will gather together for the circle time.

TEACH

• "D is for Donkey" info card
• Use the picture cards to tell the story, plus the photo in the book that includes Jesus Riding on the Donkey.

ACT it out:

• Send two kids to get the donkey,
• Have a doll "Jesus" to ride on the donkey
• All the kids wave the palm leaves. and sing Hosanna (have the CD song ready).

PLAY time:

• Explain that they had a really big party afterward with lots of music, bring out the music instruments and Yamaha CD.

Lesson 9: Jesus Calms the Storm
Sunday March 7

We'll start with Parachute Play
1. Parachute rules: up-down, ripples and waves, etc
2. Ring around the Rosie
3. Looby Lo (CD: Wee Games track 17)
4. Peas Porridge Hot, Peas Porridge Cold
5. Itsy Bitsy Spider (will involve walking across the room like "jellyfish")
6. Play: fish and ocean creatures swimming on the waves (like "popcorn")
7. Storytime: Tell the story dramatically, Jesus Calms the Storm. Add the boat!
8. "Camping" children calm down and lie down on the parachute and try to cover themselves like a blanket. Sing a quiet song: "When I am afraid I will trust in you" Psalm 56:3-4
9. We can sing Sleeping Bunny, put the parachute away.

Craftime

Colouring with crayons etc.

Hand out the brass fastener carefully.
