Lesson 12: Palm Sunday

The triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday, 28 March 2010.

CRAFT Time:

2. Children will tape the pipe cleaners to the pre-cut palm leaves.

GAME Time:

• Pin the Tail on the Donkey

(Cleanup time)

STORY TIME: Children will gather together for the circle time.

• Good Morning, Good Morning (with Donkey Puppet)
• The more we Get Together
• Rollie Pollie
• Old McDonald Had a Farm (use the farm flashcards, use Donkey last)

TEACH

• "D is for Donkey" info card
• Use the picture cards to tell the story, plus the photo in the book that includes Jesus Riding on the Donkey.

ACT it out:

• Send two kids to get the donkey,
• Have a doll "Jesus" to ride on the donkey
• All the kids wave the palm leaves. and sing Hosanna (have the CD song ready).

PLAY time:

• Explain that they had a really big party afterward with lots of music, bring out the music instruments and Yamaha CD.
